His basic scientific interests connected mainly to anthropology and health of indigenous population of the North, anthropology of nutrition, and populational genetics. Dr. Kozlov has been a principal investigator in several national and international scientific projects. He conducted many scientific expeditions in Russia and abroad.
Dr. Kozlov has published over 110 scientific works, including 8 monographies.
The teaching experience of Dr. Kozlov accounts more than 25 years. The last ten years he is engaged in Chair of Human Ecology of International Independent University of Environmental and Political Sciences in Moscow. He is a Professor of the chair since 2002. Dr. Kozlov is an invited lecturer in University of Calabria (Rende, Italy) and University of Oulu (Finland). The main disciplines he taught are Human Ecology, Ecology of Nutrition, Adaptive Pressure and Stress under "modernization".
In 2004 Dr. Kozlov defended his Doctor of Science (Anthropology and Physiology) dissertation. He has a degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine and a diploma of Senior Scientist.
His rare spare time left from the expeditions, research, teaching, business trips, and writing, Dr. Kozlov spends translating and editing books on military history, and modeling military miniatures in 1:35 scale.
Dr. Kozlov lives in Moscow and Balchik (Bulgaria).
